]]>Hal & Harper has been described as a comedic family drama, and Raiff previously said it’s his passion project. Back in 2020, he explained that this show would center on two 7-year-old and 9-year-old siblings and a single dad who is making them grow up too fast – so fast that they would be played by adult actors.
Reinhart and Raiff will most likely play the siblings, while Ruffalo will join them in the role of their dad. Addison Timlin (Blackout) and Havana Rose Liu (No Exit) also star in this project, which received a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement a couple of weeks ago because it’s been produced independently.
Ruffalo most recently starred in Netflix’s The Adam Project, and he’ll reteam with the streamer for the upcoming mini-series All the Light We Cannot See. He’s also attached to Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things and Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17. As for Reinhart, she’s fresh off filming the final season of Riverdale, and we’ve seen her lead the Netflix comedy Look Both Ways just last year.

In addition to Stone, Defoe, and Ruffalo, Poor Things will also star Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott, Jerrod Carmichael, Kathryn Hunter, and Margaret Qualley. It will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in August before heading to theatres on September 8.

]]>Reports claim that the actor that the network wants to see as the lead in the series is Mark Ruffalo. According to the reports, Bong has already been in touch with the actor but the negotiations have not yet started. Although Ruffalo is recognized these days mainly with his role in the MCU movies as the Hulk, he is known for his political and social tendencies in the picking of his roles — so it seems Parasite is a logical choice for him.
HBO’s Parasite is set to be a limited series with five or six episodes. Bong will write the script and will serve as a producer. Adam Mckay will direct and co-produce.
In response to reports made on Collider, HBO released the following statement: “to speculate on any characters or casting is wildly premature at this point in the show’s development.”

]]>Ruffalo faced the challenge of playing identical twins who actually look completely different. Playing two very different identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey meant that the actor has to undergo a major transformation, which meant gaining a whopping 30 pounds.
“We didn’t want it to be like I run and throw a wig on and do the same scene on the same day, so we took six weeks off to really separate these two guys,” Ruffalo said.
Separating the two and taking time off to gain weight was a lonely and even difficult process to go through.
“Putting on the weight for Thomas was really challenging. I didn’t expect it to be,” said Ruffalo. “I thought I was going to have a fun time doing that, but when you’re force-feeding yourself, some of the romance of food sort of leaves.”
The six-part series was written and directed by Derek Cianfrance.
I Know This Much Is True will premiere on HBO this April.

The well-meaning 50-year-old placed his phone in his pocket. Without remembering to turn it off! The result was fans being treated to audio of the film’s first 20 minutes.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live with his fellow Avengers, all unanimously agreed that Mark is the most untrustworthy.
“My phone was just blowing up. I was getting these texts and I was like, ‘I hope my mom’s okay,” Mark says in his defence. “But I can’t check my phone in the middle of the theatre, that’s rude. Especially in my own movie.”
When bosses became alerted to the fact that their film was being broadcast for the world, they sent someone over, with the actor explaining, “She poked me and she said, ‘TURN OFF YOUR PHONE! YOUR PHONE IS ON, TURN OFF YOUR PHONE!’”
