Anthony Doerr won a Pulitzer Prize for his hit novel All the Light We Cannot See, and its adaptation is finally on the way. Netflix dropped the first teaser trailer for the mini-series based on the acclaimed book and revealed a November release date.

The official logline describes All the Light We Cannot See as “the story of the extraordinary power of human connection”, which follows a blind French girl and young German soldier, who’s paths collide during World War II.

Marie-Laure Leblanc is forced to flee German-occupied Paris with her father, taking with them a legendary diamond so it wouldn’t fall into the hands of the Nazis. They take refuge in St. Malo with her reclusive uncle, and Marie develops a connection with Werner Pfennig, a bright German teenager with expertise in radio technology.

All the Light We Cannot See stars Aria Mia Loberti as Marie-Laure LeBlanc, Mark Ruffalo as her father Daniel, Hugh Laurie as her uncle Etienne, and Louis Hofmann as Werner Pfennig. It was developed for Netflix by Shawn Levy and Steven Knight, with Knight writing the series and Levy directing all episodes.

All the Light We Cannot See will feature a total of four episodes, set to be released on November 2.
