]]>Loot premiered on Apple TV+ on June 24 and it centers on a billionaire Molly Novak, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery after divorcing her husband of 20 years. She decided to reconnect with the real world and dedicate herself to a charitable foundation that she’s previously neglected after receiving an $87 billion divorce settlement.
In addition to Rudolph, Loot also stars Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Joel Kim Booster, Nat Faxon, Ron Funches, and Stephanie Styles. The series was created by Matt Hubbard and Alan Yang, who are executive producing the project alongside Rudolph through Animal Pictures.
In an official statement announcing the show’s renewal, Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, praised Loot for capturing the hearts of global audiences and added that they can’t wait for Season 2.
“Thanks to Maya, Alan, Matt, and the entire incredibly talented Loot cast and creative team who have created a show filled with captivating and endearing characters, and hilarious and heartwarming moments throughout each episode,” said Cherniss.

]]>The series will see contestants squaring off in making sweet and savory baked dishes based on thematic challenges with the aim to win a cash prize. There will be a total of eight teams, with each featuring two contestants, including spouses, siblings, and best friends.
Rudolph and Samberg, who are both Saturday Night Live alums, will guide the contestants through the series while providing comedic commentary for the viewers. The duo will be joined by a panel of “four opinionated real-life grandmothers,” who will judge each dish.
Baking It comes from the creators of the popular reality series Making It. The first season will consist out of six episodes and is expected to premiere in the winter.
Maya Rudolph enters the project after previously serving as a host on the variety show Maya & Marty. She also has experience in reality television, making guest appearances on amateur talent contest The Gong Show and bake-off competition Nailed It!
Andy Samberg, on the other hand, was previously announced as the host of Quibi’s cooking competition series Biggest Little Cook-Off But the show never made it to air since the short-form streaming platform was shut down in late 2020.

According to Variety, the series will follow Sleech and Klak, two brilliant alien doctors who specialize in rare sci-fi illnesses. When Sleech defies protocol and contracts a disease from another dimension, the heroes must find a cure before the universe is destroyed.
The project hails from Cirocco Dunlap, who is a writer and supervising producer on Lyonne’s acclaimed Netflix series Russian Doll. Lyonne and Rudolph will exec produce.
“Cirocco is an incredibly gifted and hilarious talent and we can’t wait to share her irreverent and existential point of view: a sci-fi world so deep and so strange and so animated,” Rudolph and Lyonne said in a statement.

The two leading ladies will lend their voices to the half-hour comedy series that follows a group of Southerners who are always broke as a joke and struggling for the American dream of status and wealth. What they don’t realize is that they’re already rich, in friends, family, and laughter.
“Emily Spivey has the uncanny ability to observe the simplest qualities of everyday life, framing together bold characters and hilarious stories built around warmth and heart,” said Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company. “Having grown up in a close-knit southern family, she has a deep well of material that has inspired her to create this show, with a phenomenal cast, headlined by Kristen, Maya, Jillian and Ike. As home to television’s most iconic animated families – the Simpsons, Griffins and Belchers – we’re thrilled to welcome the Harts to Fox.”
