Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg to Host Baking Competition Series at Peacock

Maya Rudolph and Andy Samberg are taking their talents to Peacock, where they will host the streamer’s new baking competition series, Baking It.

The series will see contestants squaring off in making sweet and savory baked dishes based on thematic challenges with the aim to win a cash prize. There will be a total of eight teams, with each featuring two contestants, including spouses, siblings, and best friends.

Rudolph and Samberg, who are both Saturday Night Live alums, will guide the contestants through the series while providing comedic commentary for the viewers. The duo will be joined by a panel of “four opinionated real-life grandmothers,” who will judge each dish.

Baking It comes from the creators of the popular reality series Making It. The first season will consist out of six episodes and is expected to premiere in the winter.

Maya Rudolph enters the project after previously serving as a host on the variety show Maya & Marty. She also has experience in reality television, making guest appearances on amateur talent contest The Gong Show and bake-off competition Nailed It!

Andy Samberg, on the other hand, was previously announced as the host of Quibi’s cooking competition series Biggest Little Cook-Off But the show never made it to air since the short-form streaming platform was shut down in late 2020.
