]]>With the exception of Zendaya (Dune franchise) and Michelle Pfeiffer (Ant-Man), all of the newly announced presenters are former Oscar winners. Yeoh will be joined by last year’s winners Brendan Fraser, Ke Huy Quan Curtis, and Jamie Lee Curtis – and they’ll be in pretty good company!
Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas), Jessica Lange (Tootsie), Al Pacino (Scent of a Woman), and Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) will also hit the stage, and they all have at least one Oscar under their belt.
Adding a roster of former Academy Award winners to the lineup isn’t a coincidence, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They report that the upcoming ceremony will return to the “Field of Dreams-like format” from 2009, inviting five former acting winners to introduce the five current nominees in their respective categories.
The 96th Academy Awards will take place on March 10 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting the show for the fourth time.

]]>The Witcher: Blood Origin is set 1,200 years before the events of the original series, and it tells the story of the creation of the first prototype Witcher. In addition to Yeoh, the series will also star Laurence O’Fuarain and Jon Prophet. Jodie Turner-Smith was previously attached to star before dropping out due to scheduling conflicts.
According to the official logline, Yeoh will take on the role of Scian, the very last of her nomadic tribe of sword-elves, who launches herself into a deadly quest to retrieve a stolen sacred sword that has been taken from her fallen tribe by nefarious means.
The Witcher: Blood Origin isn’t the only exciting project that Yeoh currently has on the way. We’ll soon get to see her in Gunpowder Milkshake and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and she’s also been attached to Avatar 2 and its upcoming sequels.

]]>The star is in negotiations with producers CBS Television Studios to see her character get a spin-off into a new series.
As the franchise grows and the Trekverse expands, it seems that Yeoh might helm her own fleet and show as Captain Emperor Georgiou. Yeoh, who recurred in season one of Discovery, will return in season two.
Should a stand-alone Captain Emperor Georgiou series happen at CBS All Access, it would be the fifth overall in CBS All Access’ Star Trek franchise and would most likely focus on her adventures in Starfleet’s Section 31 division. The secret organization was first introduced on the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine series.
Representatives for CBS All Access and CBS TV Studios declined to comment.
