]]>With the Multiverse that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it can be hard to keep track of what’s happening. Numerous characters have their own standalone films while also featuring in others. The movies are not always released chronologically, meaning a character may be alive in one flick, but deceased in another. In the famous words of Doctor Strange: “The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.”
We are currently amidst Phase 4 of the MCU. 2008’s Iron Man is what kicked off Marvel’s Infinity Saga, which concluded with Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019. Phase 4 began with Black Widow in 2021 and will run until Black Panther: Wakanda Forever debuts later this year.
Phases 4 to 6 up the Multiverse Saga and President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, gave an idea of what to expect whilst at San Diego Comic-Con.
The Avengers will return, although the Russo Brothers won’t. The siblings directed four Marvel movies, including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Feige confirmed, however, that they will not be helming the forthcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. This is despite the pair previously expressing interest in making the latter.
Some films to look forward to in the upcoming Fifth Phase are Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania; Secret Invasion; and Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3.
