“We just thought we were filming this secret thing that no one knew about. Which we were. No one knew what we were doing. Netflix was kind of hands-off. We thought maybe it would become a cult classic, and we’ll come back to it in 30 years and be really proud of doing it,” Wolfhard told The Observer.
Elsewhere in the interview, the 17-year-old actor confessed that he nearly gave up his acting career when he lost a role in an unnamed film. This was prior to Stranger Things and Wolfhard very nearly decided not to send off his audition tape.
He revealed that at the time, he was “sick in bed and almost considering not even acting”.

As it turns out, we’re in luck!
The executive producer of Stranger Things, Shawn Levy, told The Hollywood Reporter whilst at PaleyFest, “We’ll definitely get to see some more of Steve Harrington in Season 3, and I’ll just say we won’t be abandoning the Dad Steve magic. I don’t want to say much more, but I literally feel that we were walking along and we stumbled onto a gold mine with Dad Steve.”
In a series with so much magic, as it is, we’re glad that those behind the scenes have recognized just how magical “Dad Steve” is.
We just wish he could adopt us as part of his brood.

This isn’t all. Priah Ferguson, who appeared in a guest role as Erica, strong-willed, little sister of Lucas, is now being promoted to a recurring member of the cast. “Erica is coming back to roast us all — and she’s bringing “an army of friends!” – tweeted Netflix alongside the announcement. Variety adds that Erica is “no longer content with sitting on the sidelines,” and will engage in a “wild mission to save Hawkins from a dangerous new threat.”

Creators of Strangers Things, the Duffer brothers, started developing season three in November 2016. Almost a year later, the duo confirmed that they started with production on season three, hinting that they could end the show with season four. The executive producer of the show, Shawn Levy, later said that season four is definitely in plans but season five isn’t out of the question
“The truth is we’re definitely going four seasons and there’s very much the possibility of a fifth,” said Levy. “Beyond that, it becomes I think very unlikely.”
Matt Duffer then said that there hasn’t been a definitive decision made; adding that four seasons seem short and five seasons seem long.
Netflix officially confirmed the third season of Strangers Things in December 2017. Although there is still no official confirmation, season three will most likely air in 2019.

Of course, it was obvious that Netflix will carry on with Stranger Things after such positive response from the audience, but it is always good to have an official confirmation. Previously, the show’s creators Matt and Ross Duffer revealed to E! that their plan is to run Stranger Things for four or five season at max.
“I think, you know, four to five seasons is likely where we’ll end up, but who knows?” said Ross. “I mean, none of this official, and we know where we want to go. We’re trying to figure out still how long it’ll take to get there, so we’ll see.”
“It’s hard like four seems short, five seems long. So I don’t know what to do.” Matt added.
So far, we don’t know when season three could be released, but a realistic timeline is the end of 2018 or early 2019, given the 15 months gap between season 1 and season 2. The reports say that the filming of new episodes will start in Atlanta in the spring of 2018. The entire main cast is also set to return.
Finally, through interviews of the cast members and creators, we learned a bit about the setting of the Season 3. It will be set in 1985 and it might not take place in Hawkins.
Whatever happens, or wherever the show takes us, we are sure it will be one exciting journey.
