Hooray, Dad Steve is Returning on “Stranger Things” Season 3

Joe Keery and Gaten Matarazzo in "Stranger Things"

Forget love triangles with skater girls and battles with the Demogorgon. The actual most important storyline in season 2 of Stranger Things was Steve Harrington’s evolution into the foster parent of helpful, yet mischievous, teenagers.

And with season 3 of the Netflix show in production, our biggest question is whether we’ll more showing of Joe Keery as Steve in dad mode (how else is Dustin going to know how to style his hair?!)

As it turns out, we’re in luck!

The executive producer of Stranger Things, Shawn Levy, told The Hollywood Reporter whilst at PaleyFest, “We’ll definitely get to see some more of Steve Harrington in Season 3, and I’ll just say we won’t be abandoning the Dad Steve magic. I don’t want to say much more, but I literally feel that we were walking along and we stumbled onto a gold mine with Dad Steve.”

In a series with so much magic, as it is, we’re glad that those behind the scenes have recognized just how magical “Dad Steve” is.

We just wish he could adopt us as part of his brood.
