]]>Justin Bieber gave us two strong candidates for song of the summer with “Stay” and “Peaches”, but we have to cast our final vote to his chart-topping collaboration with The Kid Laroi.
Aided by BTS’s passionate fan base, “Butter” spent more time on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 than any other song released this year, securing its status as the unofficial “song of the summer”.
Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” was ruling the charts last winter and spring, but “Good 4 U” grew into as big of a hit this summer and basically became “Misery Business” of 2021.
Between the Saweetie collaboration “Best Friend” and several songs from her new album Planet Her, Doja Cat gave us several candidates for song of the summer, but none of them became a bigger hit than “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA.
Lil Nas X’s viral hit “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” will go down in history as one of the defining songs of 2021, and we’ve all been listening to it all summer long.

Ozuna will hit the stage solo and perform his catchy single “La Funka”.

]]>“Stay” originally hit the shelves on July 9th, and it managed to draw 63.4 million radio airplay audience impressions, 31.7 million U.S. streams, and 13,700 downloads during its most recent week on the chart. It was released as the lead single from Laroi’s mixtape F*ck Love 3: Over You, which also managed to reach no. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
“Stay” is Laroi’s very first no. 1 single, but it happens to be Bieber’s eighth—and that’s not the only thing that makes it special. With its Hot 100 triumph this week, “Stay” became Bieber’s second-longest-running hit on the chart only behind “Despacito”, his collaboration with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
When it comes to the rest of the chart this week, Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” are holding at no. 2 and no. 3 respectively. Doja Cat and SZA hit no. 4 with “Kiss Me More”, while Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow jumped up to no. 5 with “Industry Baby”.

It drew 31.9 million radio airplay audience impressions, 30.9 million U.S. streams, and 14,400 downloads in the week ending on August 5th, about a month after it first hit the shelves.
“Stay” is Bieber’s eighth number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100, but it’s the first for the Kid LAROI, and he couldn’t be happier about this success – especially since he’s the first Australian-born solo male artist to top the chart in 40 years.
“This is not only a big moment for me but a really big moment for Australia. growing up all I ever wanted to do was ‘make it big’ in America and show everyone what we have to offer. It’s been a while since I’ve been back home because of COVID but truuust me I been there in spirit,” wrote the rapper on Instagram.
