]]>The post 2022 Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards: “This is Us”, “Ted Lasso”, “Severance” Lead Nominations appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>NBC’s This Is Us is leading the way when it comes to the broadcast network and cable nominations, followed by Successions with 11 nods. It owes most of its nominations to its ensemble cast, but it’s also in the running for the best broadcast network drama.
Ted Lasso dominated the nominations in the comedy categories, with its stars Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Toheeb Jimoh, and Nick Mohammed all receiving acting nods for their work in the series. Apple TV’s hit series has also been nominated in writing and directing categories, in addition to receiving a nod for the best streaming comedy series.
As for Severance, the rookie sci-fi thriller is in the running for the best streaming drama series, competing against the likes of Loki, Ozark, Squid Game, Stranger Things, and more. It owes the rest of its nominations to its amazing cast, writers, and directors.
The Hollywood Critics Association will hand out their TV awards over two nights on August 13 and 14 at the Beverly Hilton.

]]>The post “This Is Us” to End After Season 6 appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>This Is Us tells the intriguing story of the Pearson family and follows the lives of siblings Kevin, Kate, and Randall, as well as their parents Jack and Rebecca. The series takes place over different time periods, while the series often uses flashbacks and flashforwards to explore different storylines.
Season five is currently being aired, with the season finale being set for May 25th. The sixth and final season is expected to arrive in late 2021 with 18 new episodes.
The news about the end of This Is Us doesn’t come as a surprise since creator Dan Fogelman previously said that he intends to wrap up the full story in six seasons. With the series being a serious hit in terms of ratings for NBC, the network was optimistic about changing his mind but obviously failed to do so.
Fogelman initially conceived This Is Us as a movie before converting the script into a television series. The first season debuted in late 2016, and the drama immediately became one of the most talked-about shows on television. During its run, the series received praise from the critics and went on to pick up a number of accolades, including a Primetime Emmy Award.
The cast of the series includes Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley.

The duo took to Instagram to share the very exciting news.
“WE’RE HAVING OUR FIRST BABY! And we just found out the sex. Swipe through for the gender reveal,” Sullivan captioned a sonogram. And as followers swiped right, alongside a diagram of the male reproductive system, they enjoyed pics of various items that left few wandering.

]]>A promo for the second half of Season 4 of NBC’s hit family drama that aired during the awards ceremony on Sunday, revealed that John Legend is heading to This Is Us.
The singer-songwriter is set to guest-star in the second half of the show set to premiere on January 14. He joins the season’s previously confirmed guest stars Omar Epps, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Tim Matheson, and Timothy Omundson as well as Sylvester Stallone, Ron Howard, and M. Night Shyamalan who played themselves.
The promo showed Legend looking dapper as usual at the piano, so it looks like he’s going to play himself, but the nature of his role has yet to be confirmed.
This Is Us returns Tuesday, January 14.

]]>Sterling K. Brown talked to Entertainment Weekly about that finale that wrapped up the first half of season 4 of This Is Us.
Just in case you haven’t seen the finale and don’t might the spoilers — the final episode saw a very disoriented Rebecca (Mandy Moore) picked up by the police. When she’s returned to the Pearson’s cabin, we see Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Kate (Chrissy Metz) preparing to celebrate their 40th birthday but Randall is absent. Then when Rebecca asked Kevin where Randall was, Kevin reminded her, “We’re not speaking, remember?” Oh yeah and there’s also Kevin’s pregnant fiancée.
“[Randall] loves his mom like nobody’s business,” Brown told the outlet. “And the idea of him not being at her aid as she enters into one of the more trying periods of her life is anathema. He will make himself available until he uses himself up. And that may be something that we see until he uses him up. That’s what Randall does. He does too much until he can’t do anything else.”
He continued: “Rebecca’s cognition and the state of the matriarch of this family is going to be something that’s tough to watch for most people and how they come to terms with it, accept it, how they move forward with it. It’s uncomfortable to watch someone that you love start to fail themselves.”
And despite all those unknowns, Brown says: “The last couple of episodes will really set up what’s going to be happening in the season to come.”
