Another music legend has gotten tired from traveling around the world and performing in a different city every night. The Parliament/Funkadelic frontman funk legend George Clinton announced Friday that he will retire from touring in 2019.

“This has been coming a long time,” said Clinton in a statement revealing the news. “Anyone who has been to the shows over the past couple of years has noticed that I’ve been out front less and less.”

Clinton recently had problems with his heart and had to undergo a pacemaker surgery. Still, the 76-year-old claimed that the surgery didn’t play a determining fact in his decision.

“Truth be told,” he added. “It’s never really been about me. It’s always been about the music and the band. That’s the real P-Funk legacy. They’ll still be funkin’ long after I stop.”

Now, George Clinton isn’t looking to calmly ride into the sunset. Backed by Parliament/Funkadelic, he will play over 50 dates in 2018, including shows the US, Europe, and Japan. Also, the Rock and Roll Famer will put out a new album with the Parliament. Titled Medicaid Fraud Dog, this will be their first studio release since 1980’s Trombipulation.

George Clinton is considered to be one of the most prominent figures in funk music alongside James Brown and Sly Stone. Clinton’s most acclaimed works came through bands Parliament and Funkadelic. Each band featured different musicians and played a different sound at the beginning, but eventually, Clinton decided to unify them into a Parliament/Funkadelic collective. George Clinton and 15 members of the P-Funk collective were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

If you are visiting Washington’s Broccoli City Festival, then you are in luck, since the festival will feature the last live performance from Cardi B for a while. The 25-year old rapper shared a video with her followers on Instagram on Wednesday night, revealing that she will have to cancel some of the upcoming tour dates due to her pregnancy.

“Hey y’all! What’s poppin?” said Cardi B in the video. “So, I just want to make this a little clear and everything. Broccoli Fest will be my last performance for a little while and everything because, you know, shorty keep growing. I be looking like I be moving and everything but in reality a b-tch barely can breathe.”

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper also added that she will be back for the Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic Tour in September, during which she performs as an opening act on the shows.

Still, despite taking a break from live performances, Cardi B doesn’t intend on getting too comfortable.

“Okay so I might be off from doing performances for a couple of months but in the meantime imma be working my ass off,” she wrote on her Twitter profile. “So many songs, features to do. Working on a lot of deals i sign up for and most importantly nesting. Im already overwhelmed from the new work.”

Since releasing her debut single “Bodak Yellow” in 2017, Cardi B has experienced a meteoric rise in the world of music. She became one of the most popular female rappers of today, with her singles topping the charts on a regular basis.

After several delays, Cardi B released her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, on April 6, 2018. The album received positive reviews and debuted at the top of US Billboard 200. The album features guest appearances from Migos, Chance the Rapper, Kehlani, and others.

Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” World Tour has already taken nearly two years. He’s performed with everything he has in over 150 shows in six continents.

Only 15 shows remain but… Justin Has Decided To Pull The Plug.

“On behalf of myself, Justin, and the team, we are sorry. But a man’s soul and well being I truly care about came first and we must all respect and honor that,” said Justin’s manager Scooter Braun.

Bieber reps told TMZ that Justin is “just over it.” It’s been the same show since March 2016. He’s losing heart and can no longer give it his all.

TMZ got ahold of Justin who confirmed and added that he’s, “so sorry to anyone who might feel disappointed or betrayed.”

Justin says he’s going to take some down time to breathe, ride his bike and be around family and close friends.

If there is a song from Lauryn Hill’s seminal solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill that you always wanted to hear live but never managed to, here is your chance. The 42-year-old American singer has announced that she will embark on a tour across North America in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut solo release.

During the tour, which kicks off with a show in Virginia Beach on July 5th, Hill will perform The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in full. She will tour the US and Canada in July, August, and October before finishing off with dates in New Orleans and St. Louis on October 3rd and 5th respectively.

Lauryn Hill started working on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in 1997 after she finished the tour with her former group Fugees. She was inspired by her romantic relationship with Jamaican entrepreneur Rohan Marley.

The album was released on August 25, 1998, and immediately became a huge hit with both the audience and the critics. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and topped the charts in several other countries. Lauryn Hill earned 10 nominations at the 41st Annual Grammy Awards and won five of them making her the first woman to do so in a single night. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill sold more than 13 million copies worldwide, 8 million in the United States alone.
