]]>The project starring not only teams two television giants and Emmy winners together, but it also hails from Modern Family co-creator and executive producer Chris Lloyd.
Penned by Lloyd and Vali Chandrasekaran, the series follows three men—two of them played by Grammer and Baldwin—who were roommates in their 20s until their warring egos drove them apart. They reunite decades later for one more run at the lives they’ve always wanted. The third cast member will be announced at a later date.
The still-untitled series will be Baldwin’s first major television role since 30 Rock. He’s currently a regular on Saturday Night Live portraying President Donald Trump.
Grammer is best known for his roles on Cheers and Frasier.
The series is slated for the 2021-22 season.

]]>The 30 Rock actor has been selected as Comedy Central’s latest “victim” for its comedy roast.
Baldwin’s time in the hot seat will place him in the same company as Bruce Willis, Rob Lowe, Justin Bieber, Charlie Sheen, James Franco, and Donald Trump, all of whom have been roasted by their colleagues and compatriots.
“Getting roasted will be the greatest honor of my lifetime besides being a father, a husband, hosting SNL seventeen times, receiving Golden Globes, Emmys and working with Martin Scorsese,” the 61-year-old said.
The Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin will take place in New York with the broadcast date yet to be announced.

In August, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Alec would be taking on the role, before dropping out just 2 days later.
Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque.

“I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER… That is not happening. Not. Happening,” he wrote on Twitter, whilst also telling USA Today, “I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.”
And it now appears as though director Todd Phillips has found one of the 25…
The filmmaker has cast Person of Interest actor Brett Cullen as Thomas Wayne.
Brett has previously stepped into the Batman Universe, having portrayed a congressman in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.

]]>It was reported on Monday that Alec Baldwin would be heading to Gotham City as a part of The Joker which is coming out next year.
Walk the Line actor, Joaquin Phoenix will play the “Clown Prince of Crime” who is a nemesis of Batman, while Alec was set to portray the superhero’s father, Thomas Wayne, whose death inspired a young Bruce Wayne to take on a life of crime fighting.
Citing scheduling conflicts, the 60-year-old has now pulled out of the project, telling Variety, “I’m no longer doing that movie. I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.”
Alec also dismissed rumour that, had he played Thomas Wayne, he would have likened the character to US President, Donald Trump.
“Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque. That is not happening. Not. Happening,” he wrote on Twitter.

]]>The 60-year-old has signed on to star in the new Joker film which stars Joaquin Phoenix as the titular character who is the bane of Batman’s existence (see what we did there?)
The Will & Grace star will join the project as Batman’s father, Thomas Wayne.
Wayne Sr., who was a physician and philanthropist, was murdered along with his wife Martha during a street robbery, inspiring the young Bruce to grow up to become the vigilante, Batman.
The film is expected to be based upon the Joker’s origins and will be separate from Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning portrayal in The Dark Knight and Jared Leto’s recent run-in Suicide Squad.
Alec will be joined by Deadpool 2 actress, Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron of GLOW, and The Wizard of Lies star, Robert De Niro on the project which will be helmed by The Hangover director, Todd Phillips, and co-produced by Martin Scorsese.
The Joker is set for release on the 4th of October 2019.
