Cardi B is in the running for several American Music Awards this year, but she won’t be attending the ceremony just as a nominee. The hip-hop superstar will also be in charge of hosting the festivities next month in Los Angeles.

Cardi B continues the trend of the AMAs choosing Black female stars as their hosts. Cardi B is following in the footsteps of the Black-ish actress Tracee Ellis Ross (2017,18), R&B star Ciara (2019), and the Oscar-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson (2020).

Cardi B released a statement thanking the show’s executive producer Jesse Collins, ABC, and MRC for making this happen. She added she was very excited after receiving the invite to join the show as its host and said she’s ready to bring her personality to the AMAs stage.

The hip-hop star is in the running for three awards this year—favorite female hip-hop artist, favorite music video, and favorite hip-hop song with “Up”. The list of major contenders at this year’s AMAs also includes Olivia Rodrigo with seven nods and The Weeknd with six.

We’ll get to see how Cardi B does as a host when the American Music Awards return to LA’s Microsoft Theater on November 21st.

The masterminds behind this year’s American Music Awards waited for so long to announce the host that the entire world expected a ceremony without one, but it turns out they had something truly special up their sleeve. Ciara will be in charge of hosting this year’s AMAs!

The R&B superstar is following in the footsteps of Tracee Ellis Ross, who hosted this ceremony twice in a row for the past two years. Ciara previously hosted Billboard Music Awards alongside Ludacris in 2016, so she’s no stranger to entertaining the audience at a major award ceremony.

The list of performers is also constantly expending – Kesha and Jonas Brothers are the latest artists added to the impressive lineup. They’ll be joining Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, and many more who’ll grace the stage at this ceremony.

The American Music Awards will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 24th, with ABC taking charge of the live broadcast. Post Malone topped the list of this year’s nominations with a total of seven nods, and he was closely followed by Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish, who received six each.

This year’s American Music Awards is turning into a showcase of our favorite female artists – and we’re 100% here for it. Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Lizzo joined the list of performers at the upcoming ceremony.

The American Music Awards will take place on November 24th at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Post Malone topped the list of nominees with seven nods, but he was closely followed by Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish, who scored six nominations each.

Taylor Swift was announced as the first performer at the ceremony, and she’s also set to receive Artist of the Decade award. Selena Gomez quickly joined her when it was announced she’ll grace the stage while delivering a rendition of her new chart-topping single “Lose You to Love Me”.

Billie Eilish and Lizzo never performed at the AMAs before, and this will be their first time hitting the stage at this ceremony. Camila Cabello and Dua Lipa will be on familiar ground as they’ve already had a chance to perform last year.

Taylor Swift’s trophy shelf is already crowded, but she’ll have to make room for a few more shiny statues after the American Music Awards. the ten-time Grammy winner dominated at this year’s ceremony, where she won a total of four awards.

Swift opened the AMAs by performing her hit single I Did Something Bad, and things just got better from that point on. By the end of the evening, she was holding four trophies in her hands, including artist of the year, tour of the year, favorite female artist and favorite album in pop/rock categories.

Camila Cabello replicated her success and also collected four statues. The former Fifth Harmony singer has beaten the likes of Cardi B and Dua Lipa to win coveted new artist of the year award, but she was also honored in additional three categories – favorite music video, collaboration of the year and favorite song – pop/rock.

Despite leading the list of nominations with a total of eight, Cardi B failed to dominate at another award’s ceremony and eventually collected three of them. She wasn’t the only one to accomplish this task since country singer Kane Brown also walked away with three shiny statues.
