The American Music Awards are only a few weeks away, and we finally know who’ll be in charge of making us laugh throughout the evening. Taraji P. Henson is set to host this year’s ceremony.

The Empire star released an official statement, saying she’s proud to take the stage as this year’s host. She described the AMAs as the ceremony that “brings together the music community” and promised an electrifying night of music to all the fans watching at home.

This announcement comes shortly after the AMAs shared the list of this year’s nominees with the world. Roddy Ricch and The Weeknd led the way with eight nods each, followed by Megan Thee Stallion with a total of five nominations.

This year’s AMAs will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 22nd. The full list of performers is yet to be announced, and it currently includes Dua Lipa and BTS.
