The post “Avatar” Reclaims the Title of Highest-Grossing Film of All Time appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Avatar’s China reissue kicked off on Friday and added $12.3 million to the movie’s box office earnings in just two days, making it the highest-grossing film of all time at the global box office.
Jon Landau, who produced the movie alongside James Cameron, thanked the fans in China for supporting the movie and said they’re looking forward to sharing the follow-ups of this epic story.
“We are proud to reach this great milestone, but Jim and I are most thrilled that the film is back in theaters during these unprecedented times, and we want to thank our Chinese fans for their support,” said Landau in a statement.
James Cameron previously discussed the reissue with China.org and stated that he believes that Avatar is still relevant today because it tackles important issues we face, including deforestation and climate change. Two Avatar sequels are currently in post-production, set to come out in 2022 and 2024, with an additional two on the way.

]]>Evans recently did an interview for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series alongside his Marvel co-star Scarlett Johansson and tackled the possibility of returning to the MCU. He’s not eager to walk in Steve Roger’s shoes any time soon, but “it’s not a hard no.”
The famous actor, who’s currently promoting his new project Knives Out, explained he’s working on other things right now and doesn’t want to return to the MCU unless his comeback is adding to Cap’s story and revealing something new.
“I think Cap had such a tricky act to stick the landing, and I think they did a really nice job letting him complete his journey. If you’re going to revisit it, it can’t be a cash grab. It can’t be just because the audience wants to be excited. A lot of things would have to come together,” said Chris Evans.
He added that Avengers: Endgame felt like perfect closure for the character he spent playing for almost a decade, and that “it’d be a shame to sour that.”

]]>Marvel’s latest box office hit dominated in movie categories. It will be competing for the most coveted award of the night (best movie), but it will have to beat tough competition that includes BlacKkKlansman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Us.
Game of Thrones is the fan favorite in the best TV show category, but it will have to go against Big Mouth, The Haunting of Hill House, Riverdale and Schitt’s Creek. HBO’s fantasy series will also be competing in additional three categories – best performance (Emilia Clarke), best hero (Maisie Williams), and best fight (Maisie Williams vs. White Walkers).
This year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards will air on June 17, with Shazam! star Zachary Levi taking on the hosting duties for the first time.
