Captain America is one of the characters whose journey nicely wrapped up in Avengers: Endgame. Chris Evans bid farewell to his most iconic character in this movie, but will we ever see him play Steve Rogers again?

Evans recently did an interview for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series alongside his Marvel co-star Scarlett Johansson and tackled the possibility of returning to the MCU. He’s not eager to walk in Steve Roger’s shoes any time soon, but “it’s not a hard no.”

The famous actor, who’s currently promoting his new project Knives Out, explained he’s working on other things right now and doesn’t want to return to the MCU unless his comeback is adding to Cap’s story and revealing something new.

“I think Cap had such a tricky act to stick the landing, and I think they did a really nice job letting him complete his journey. If you’re going to revisit it, it can’t be a cash grab. It can’t be just because the audience wants to be excited. A lot of things would have to come together,” said Chris Evans.

He added that Avengers: Endgame felt like perfect closure for the character he spent playing for almost a decade, and that “it’d be a shame to sour that.”
