Anderson’s latest collaboration with Roman Coppola has been in development for quite some time, and the duo finished the script before the writers’ strike. They’re keeping the plot details under wraps for now, but it’s safe to expect this film will be visually striking and feature a huge ensemble, just like all of Anderson’s previous projects.

The Phoenician Scheme will reunite Anderson with his frequent collaborators Bill Murray and Benicio Del Toro, who both appeared in his film The French Dispatch. Michael Cera is the newcomer to Anderson’s world, but he’ll fit right in, given his tendency for playing quirky characters.

Anderson is fresh off another busy year, which saw him release several acclaimed projects. In addition to his latest feature Asteroid City, led by Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Hanks, the seven-time Oscar nominee also released a quarter of short films based on the works of Roald Dahl, including The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.

The pair recently collaborated on The French Dispatch which is scheduled for release on October 22^nd, but they already have another project in the works. 

The Moonrise Kingdom actor has revealed the name of the new film, Asteroid City, saying, “We’re shooting it in Spain, about 45 minutes from Madrid. It’s fun out there, we’re having a nice time.”

Murray is not Anderson’s only frequent collaborator, as Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, and Scarlett Johansson will also be joining. “It’s the usual cast of characters,” said Murray. 

The Oscar nominee also confirmed that working with Anderson so often is not a coincidence. “There are certain people you don’t take their calls; and there are certain people you just say, ‘OK, yeah’. He’s one of those.”

Groundhog Day is a dark comedy starring Bill Murray. In the film, Murray’s character wakes up one day and realizes that it is in fact, yesterday. At the end of each day, the clock resets and he discovers he is doomed to live the same day on repeat.

Stephen Tobolowsky played the insurance agent Ned Ryerson in the movie. In a recent interview, Tobolowsky rvealed that a Groundhog Day TV series in the works and that it will be set 30 years after the 1993 film.

“There’s talk about a Groundhog Day series in the works,” he told The Production Meeting Podcast.

“One of the producers—I was working on The Goldbergs or [the spin-off series] Schooled, one of those shows over on the Sony lot, and one of the producers saw me and goes, ‘Oh, Stephen! Stephen! We’re working on a Groundhog Day TV show. Could you be Ned for the TV show?’ I go, ‘Sure. Yeah. No problem.’ But it’s Ned thirty years later. What has his life become?”

It’s unknown whether Bill Murray will be reprising his role as Phil in the TV series. Hopefully, we will be able to share more details soon.

Bum’s Rush will center on a highly-skilled custom boot maker (Hathaway), who finds herself at a serious crossroads after stumbling upon a singular stray dog, Bum (voiced by Murray). Robert Duvall is in talks to join the cast in an undisclosed role.

Aaron Schneider (Get Low) will be in charge of directing this film, based on the script by C. Gaby Mitchell (Blood Diamond). They’ll produce this project alongside Sarah Green, who has high expectations for Bum’s Rush.

“We are all dog lovers on this team, and now more than ever we appreciate their value in our lives. We are excited to join forces with Rocket Science and CAA to bring this timely story to the world,” said Green and Mitchell in a statement.

The short format series directed by the Farrellys follows Ed Poole (Franco), who finds clarity when a secret from his past emerges and seemingly destroys his future. Per Entertainment Weekly, an earlier description touted the show as the story of a suicidal man whose brother and father have already died by suicide.

The Now was co-written by Peter, Steve Leff, and Pete Jones. 

Quibi is set to launch on April 6, 2020, and will feature “quick bites” of content running 10 minutes or less.

Aykroyd discussed the upcoming sequel during an appearance on The Greg Hill Show and talked about how much fun he had working with both new and original cast members – including Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, who are done shooting their parts.

“Jason Reitman wrote a beautiful, heartfelt script that takes the real DNA from the first two movies and transfers that directly to the third, the next generation. It hands the legacy off to a new generation of stars, and players, and actors, and characters,” said the actor.

Ghostbusters 2020 will be directed by Jason Reitman, son of original director Ivan Reitman, who will return as a producer. It’s set to premiere on July 10th, 2020 with Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd joining the original cast.

The 2019 Rome Film Fest’s Lifetime Achievement Award goes to 68-years-old actor. The award will be handed to the veteran actor by his close friend and collaborator Wes Anderson.

Murray has appeared in every Anderson film since the director’s sophomore feature. Wes directed Murray in The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, Moonrise Kingdom and Grand Budapest Hotel, among others. 

The festival confirmed Monday that the two will take to the stage together for an “in conversation” session during the event which runs October 17-27. The festival’s lineup was also partially revealed and it includes over 40 films. Its Official Selection includes Ron Howard’s Pavarotti. 

The complete lineup will be announced at a press conference October 4.
