Ghostbusters 2020 is one of the most highly-anticipated movies of next year, and Dan Aykroyd added some more fuel to the fire in a recent interview where he confirmed original cast members already shot their parts.

Aykroyd discussed the upcoming sequel during an appearance on The Greg Hill Show and talked about how much fun he had working with both new and original cast members – including Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, who are done shooting their parts.

“Jason Reitman wrote a beautiful, heartfelt script that takes the real DNA from the first two movies and transfers that directly to the third, the next generation. It hands the legacy off to a new generation of stars, and players, and actors, and characters,” said the actor.

Ghostbusters 2020 will be directed by Jason Reitman, son of original director Ivan Reitman, who will return as a producer. It’s set to premiere on July 10th, 2020 with Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd joining the original cast.
