]]>In the days before reality TV and social media, Angelyne managed to find a way to become an overnight sensation. Countless billboards with her face appeared all around Los Angeles, transforming her into one of the biggest pop culture icons in this city during the ’80s.
That’s one of the reasons why Rossum was drawn to this role, and she told People that she spent the better part of the past four years “thinking, living, and breathtaking this project.”
“I love Angelyne. She’s as if Marilyn Monroe got into an Easy-Bake oven with an ’80s punk Barbie Doll and a dose of New Age spirituality. She’s a trailblazer, a hustler, a visionary, the original influencer, a living, breathing piece of art,” explained Rossum.
In addition to Rossum, the series will also star Martin Freeman (Sherlock), Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass), Michael Angarano (This Is Us), and Lukas Gage (Euphoria). It’s set to premiere on Peacock on May 19 and it will consist of five episodes.

]]>Gary Levine, president of entertainment at Showtime Networks, announced the renewal at the Winter TCA Press Tour, and said they’re putting their full trust in showrunner John Wells and his cast and crew to bring this series to an “appropriately Shameless conclusion.”
“Airing this summer, it will be one last hurrah for the Gallaghers and their unique blend of love and lechery. John Wells and his gifted cast promise to take Shameless out for a bang, and knowing Gallaghers we all as we all do, that is no idle threat,” Levine said in a statement.
Shameless is a remake of a British series of the same name, and it follows the trials and tribulations of a dysfunctional family living in Chicago. It premiered in 2011, and featured an ensemble cast led by Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy.
