“Shameless” to End with a Bang After 11 Wild Seasons

We’ve been following the crazy adventures of the Gallagher family for an entire decade, but all good things must come to an end. Showtime renewed this show for its 11th season, and they’re promising a wild ride since it’s also going to be its last.

Gary Levine, president of entertainment at Showtime Networks, announced the renewal at the Winter TCA Press Tour, and said they’re putting their full trust in showrunner John Wells and his cast and crew to bring this series to an “appropriately Shameless conclusion.”

“Airing this summer, it will be one last hurrah for the Gallaghers and their unique blend of love and lechery. John Wells and his gifted cast promise to take Shameless out for a bang, and knowing Gallaghers we all as we all do, that is no idle threat,” Levine said in a statement.

Shameless is a remake of a British series of the same name, and it follows the trials and tribulations of a dysfunctional family living in Chicago. It premiered in 2011, and featured an ensemble cast led by Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy.
