]]>This life-achievement award is reserved for individuals who have made a lasting impact on the film industry. The HFPA president Ali Sar said Fonda is a worthy recipient thanks to her undeniable talent and unwavering commitment to evoking change.
“For more than five decades, Jane’s breadth of work has been anchored in her unrelenting activism, using her platform to address some of the most important social issues of our time,” said Sar in an official statement.
Jane Fonda is no stranger to winning Golden Globes awards—she took home seven awards in the past, and her most recent nomination came in 2015 when she received a nod for her supporting performance in Youth. Fonda is also a recipient of two Oscars for her performances in Klute and Coming Home.
Fonda currently stars in Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, and she’s expected to start filming its final season later this year. Her most recent movie roles include romantic comedy Book Club and Netflix drama Our Souls at Night.

]]>The 78th Golden Globe Awards are expected to take place on February 28th, taking the Oscars’ former slot. The ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills and broadcasted live on NBC.
The rest of the important dates are yet to be announced. “To accommodate both domestic and international film and television productions, the HFPA will provide further guidance around eligibility, voting period, and revised nominations announcement timing in the coming weeks,” reads the HFPA’s press release.
The Golden Globes usually mark the beginning of awards season, as they take place on the first Sunday of the calendar year. The date had to shift, however, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, but one thing remains the same – Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are expected to host the ceremony.
