Oppenheimer came into this year’s Golden Globe Awards, as one of the main contenders—and it lived up to the hype! Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic walked away with a total of five trophies, including best drama, while HBO’s Succession dominated the TV field with four wins.

Oppenheimer defeated Anatomy of a Fall, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest to win the shiniest trophy of the night – best motion picture – drama. Poor Things pulled a major upset in the best motion picture—comedy category, defeating Barbie, The Holdovers, Air, American Fiction, and May December to win this award.

Oppenheimer was the biggest winner of the night, after walking away with five of the eight awards it was nominated for. Christopher Nolan was named the best director, Cillian Murphy, and Robert Downey Jr. collected acting awards for their respective performances, while Ludwig Göransson picked up the trophy for the best original score.

Succession was the biggest winner on the TV side, with a total of four wins, including the best drama series, plus acting awards for its stars Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen. The Bear and Beef walked away with three awards each, including the best comedy series and best limited series, respectively.
