The Academy Awards were officially postponed last week, and it was only a matter of time before other ceremonies followed suit. The Golden Globes are also pushing their date and moving the ceremony to late February.

The 78th Golden Globe Awards are expected to take place on February 28th, taking the Oscars’ former slot. The ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills and broadcasted live on NBC.

The rest of the important dates are yet to be announced. “To accommodate both domestic and international film and television productions, the HFPA will provide further guidance around eligibility, voting period, and revised nominations announcement timing in the coming weeks,” reads the HFPA’s press release.

The Golden Globes usually mark the beginning of awards season, as they take place on the first Sunday of the calendar year. The date had to shift, however, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, but one thing remains the same – Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are expected to host the ceremony.
