Deadpool’s first MCU movie was a long time coming, and he won’t be alone for the ride. The first official trailer sees Wade Wilson trying to recruit Wolverine to help him save the MCU after being pulled from the peaceful life in his timeline by the Time Variance Authority, a mysterious organization from Loki, committed to keeping the “Sacred Timeline” in check.

Deadpool & Wolverine will feature several familiar faces from the previous Deadpool movies, including Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Brianna Hildebrand. Jennifer Garner will join them as Elektra, along with Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova and Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox.

This film will mark Jackman’s first appearance as Wolverine since Logan, which was initially intended as his final film as this character. He previously starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Jackman recently discussed this project with the Empire Film Podcast. One of the questions that came up was the nature of the relationship between the two beloved superheroes, and it turns out they won’t be on the best of terms in the beginning.

“How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other. I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him, or wants to punch him in the head,” said Jackman.

Jackman’s casting had fans worried that his role in Deadpool 3 will mess up the timeline established by the last Wolverine movie Logan. The actor assured fans there’s nothing to worry about due to Marvel’s focus on the multiverse, which makes it easy to bring the old characters back.

Deadpool 3 will be released on November 8, 2024 and it will see Ryan Reynolds return to the titular role.

The Fox/Marvel movie is one of the latest to hit the company’s streaming service, Disney+, and, surprisingly, it is uncensored. According to the post of Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman on Instagram, this is a first for the family-friendly service.

It should be noted that as most of other recent superhero movies, X-Men: Days of Future Past is rated PG-13, but Disney often censors movies even more than other services in order to reach younger audiences. The movie contains material that will usually be cut out, such as smoking, vulgar language, and some nudity.  

Jackman’s Instagram post contains a still from one scene showing his character riddled with bullet holes – a scene that could have been cut in the past. “Days Of Future Past becomes the first movie to air on Disney+ uncensored,” Jackman wrote, “That was my future but let’s be honest … it’s more like my past.”

Wizards of Waverly Place and Splash are two examples of content that was toned down by the service prior to its streaming. Along with X-Men: Days of Future Past Disney+ began to stream The Fantastic Four and The Wolverine.

The 50-year old Australian actor will star in a revival of the 1957 classic musical The Music Man. 

The 2020 revival will bring back to the stage Meredith Willson’s musical classic. Jackman’s involvement in the production was annoyed by producer Scott Rudin on Wednesday. The news was then confirmed by the lead man on Twitter, by posting a photo of a suitcase and trombone with a luggage tag reading “Professor Harold Hill.” The actor captioned the image: “The Music Man. Broadway. October 22, 2020.”

“The first musical I was ever part of was the phenomenal The Music Man,” said Jackman in a statement. “The year was 1983, and I was at Knox Grammar School in Sydney, Australia. I was one of the traveling salesmen, and I think I can actually (almost) remember that unforgettable opening number! That was probably the moment when the magic of theater was born in me. The idea of bringing The Music Man back to Broadway has been lurking in the back of my brain for a long time, maybe even for 35 years. When Scott Rudin called me with that very idea, I was floored. To finally be doing this is a huge thrill.”

This isn’t the first time Jackman will take the Broadway stage — he previously starred in The Boy From Oz, a performance which earned him a Tony Award.
