]]>The renewal has been simply announced through Loki’s case file stamp, which read: “Loki will return in Season 2.” Not much is known about the new season right now, and even the show’s main star Tom Hiddleston failed to confirm his comeback.
“I have learned, at this point, having said goodbye to the character more than twice, two and a half times maybe, to make no assumptions… I’m a temporary passenger on Loki’s journey, but we’ll see. We’ll see where the ride goes now,” the British actors told Deadline.
Loki sees the God of Mischief landing in hot water with the mysterious organization Time Variance Authority (TVA) after trying to steal the Tesseract. Due to its time-traveling theme, the show introduced many different variants of Loki, played by the likes of Sophia Di Martino and Richard E. Grant, so there’s room for more stories to be told in Season 2 even if Hiddleston doesn’t return.

]]>Hiddleston set down with MTV News’s Josh Horowitz and talked about everything from his Broadway debut to returning to the role of the god of mischief for Disney+.
“There’s a sense of ‘I know this character now, I feel the audience knows him.’ Playing him, and playing him truthfully, but presenting him with new challenges which then have to change him in different ways is the most exciting aspect of [doing the series],” said the MCU star.
Tom Hiddleston also mentioned he’ll spend about six hours playing Loki on this show, which means we can expect a total of either six or twelve episodes. He also promised it will be humorous in tone since it has Rick and Morty writer Michael Waldron serving as showrunner.
Loki series still doesn’t have an official release date, but it’s expected to premiere in early 2021.

]]>According to recent reports, Hiddleston will be reprising the role in a new series for Disney’s upcoming streaming service Disney+. There’s been a lot of speculations surrounding the future of this character in the MCU ever since Avengers: Infinity War came out, but it turns out we still haven’t seen the last of him.
Shortly after Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced the amazing news, Tom Hiddleston confirmed he’s coming back. He shared an image with the brief message, “Loki. More stories to tell. More mischief to make. More to come.”
The release date remains a mystery, but this fan favorite reportedly isn’t the only MCU character getting his own series. Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, and Falcon are also in the mix, and we’re yet to see if any of these spin-offs actually pans out.
