]]>Panic! At The Disco was formed in 2004 and it went through many changes over the years. We’ve seen them experiment with many different genres as band members came and went before PATD eventually became a solo vehicle for Urie in 2015.
Urie shared a lengthy statement on social media, where he announced his decision to disband Panic! At The Disco to put his energy into raising his first child with his wife Sarah Orzechowski. He took a moment to reflect on the band’s humble beginnings and thanked everyone who joined them for the ride.
“I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you,” wrote Urie.
He’ll say goodbye to fans during the European leg of the ongoing Viva Las Vengeance Tour, taking place between February 20 and March 10.

]]>The video for PATD’s latest single pays clear homage to the iconic late ’70s musical. Directed by Brendan Walter, the music video features costumes and dance numbers that look straight out of Grease, but they’re intersected with scenes with a more modern flare.
Panic! at the Disco labeled this catchy tune as “the theme song for all of our breakup seasons”. It will be featured on Panic! at the Disco’s upcoming seventh studio album Viva Las Vengeance, along with the title track, which was released as the lead single back in June.
Viva Las Vengeance will hit the shelves on August 19 and Brandon Urie described it as an album about love, fame, burnout, and everything that happens in between.
“Viva Las Vengeance is a look back at who I was 17 years ago and who I am now with the fondness I didn’t have before. I didn’t realize I was making an album and there was something about the tape machine that kept me honest,” said the PATD frontman.

]]>Speaking with Rock Sound, Urie discussed his desire to keep their music diverse, which it certainly is already. Each album has a different sound but Urie says he wants to branch out further.
“I always feel as though I need to be more diverse,” he revealed to Rock Sound. “Yes, all of the Panic! albums do sound different and have their own vibe, their own aesthetic and imagery, but I still feel like I can do more.
“Even from song to song within one album I feel like things could change even more drastically,” he added, “and maybe that’ll happen as time goes on.”
He later revealed that one genre he is hoping to try out, in particular, is metal.
“I want to do a metal project in particular,” he revealed. “I actually just played something for my bandmates recently – we have an old song called ‘The Calendar’ and I made a metal version of it from years back. It’s like 90 seconds long and is really fun.”
He added: “Who knows, I might even put that out on SoundCloud on a whim sometime soon!”

]]>The 36-year-old multi-instrumentalist will now focus on the I Don’t Know How But They Found Me project he started with Falling In Reverse drummer Ryan Seaman. The duo made their debut on December 6, when they performed at Emo Nite.
Dallon Weekes joined Panic! at the Disco in 2009, as a replacement for the departing bass player Jon Walker. Although he was a touring member of the band at the beginning, he officially joined the full-time lineup in 2010. He had a major influence on band’s fourth studio album titled Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die, for which he co-wrote majority of the songs. In 2015, however, his status was changed to “touring only” once more, after he stopped contributing creatively to the band’s work.
With Dallon Weekes walking away, the lead vocalist Brendon Urie remains as the only full-time member of the Panic! at the Disco. He is backed by a group of touring musicians, most of which joined the band in 2016. The most recent band’s release was a live album All My Friends, We’re Glorious, recorded during the Death of a Bachelor Tour and released on December 15, 2017.
Panic! at the Disco also introduced a new holiday-themed song recently, titled Feels Like Christmas.
