The third season of The Morning Show is just around the corner, and Apple TV+ built up the hype with a brand-new trailer. The secrets at UBA are spilling left and right after a major cyberattack that puts the future of this TV network and its star anchors in jeopardy.

According to Apple TV’s official synopsis, “unexpected alliances form, private truths are weaponized, and everyone is forced to confront their core values both in and out of the newsroom” in the show’s third season after “the future of the network is thrown into question and loyalties are pushed to the brink when a tech titan takes an interest in UBA.”

In addition to Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston in the lead roles, the star-studded ensemble also includes Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm, Nicole Beharie, and Julianna Margulies.

The core premise of The Morning Show significantly changed since it premiered in 2019. It was initially conceived as a series about the impact of the #MeToo movement in the television landscape, and it was one of the star-studded shows that helped put Apple TV+ on the map.

The Morning Show will return for its third season on September 13 and it’s already been renewed for Season 4.

Apple TV+ gave us one of its flagship series with The Morning Show and they’re not letting go of it anytime soon. The streaming giant renewed the star-studded drama for its fourth season ahead of Season 3 premiere.

The Morning Show premiered on Apple TV+ in 2019, and it explores the culture behind a network broadcast morning news program through the lens of the #MeToo movement. The series is led by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who both received numerous award nominations since its premiere.

Their contracts were up at the end of Season 3, but Deadline reports they’re in talks with Apple to renew their deals. They’re expected to sign on for one more season as they work out scheduling, and there’s even an option for Season 5.

Steve Carell won’t return for Season 3, but Mark Duplass, Billy Crudup, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, and Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, and Tom Irwin are expected to reprise their roles. Season 3 will also feature several exciting new characters, played by Jon Hamm, Stephen Fry, Tig Notaro, and Nicole Beharie.

Filming for the third season wrapped up in February. Apple TV+ is yet to announce the official release date, but The Morning Show will most likely return this fall.

The cast of the third season of The Morning Show is shaping up to be pretty amazing and another major player just joined the ensemble. The acclaimed stand-up comedian and Army of the Dead actress Tig Notaro has been cast in Season 3 of the Apple TV+ drama.

Notaro will star as Amanda Robinson, the chief of staff to Paul Marks, played by Jon Hamm. His character has been described as a corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA, pulling Billy Crudup’s Cory, Jennifer Aniston’s Alex, and Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley into his powerful orbit.

Nicole Beharie is also among the new cast members of the show’s third season, in the role of a grounded, competitive and charismatic anchor Christina Hunter. Julianna Margulies recently announced she’ll reprise her role from Season 2, while the rest of the cast is yet to be confirmed.

Notaro is currently starring in Star Trek: Discovery and the third season of The Morning Show isn’t the only exciting project she has on the way. She’s set to reprise the role of Marianne Peters in the anime-style series Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, in addition to being attached to films We Have a Ghost and Your Place or Mine.

Apple TV Plus released the trailer for the second season of The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

The show left off with Alex (Aniston) and Bradley (Witherspoon) having a “Network” moment on live television after Alex ignored the sexual misconduct from her former co-anchor, Mitch (Steve Carell) who was protected for years by the head of the UBA network, Fred (Tom Irwin). The two ladies were cut off mid-rant and the final image was of Mitch sitting by himself with his face messed up after a fistfight he had with Chip (Mark Duplass), who was the fired, fall-guy executive producer of the show.

The trailer shows UBA head Cory (Billy Crudup) retrieving Alex from the snowy house she’s in exile in. Alex ends up returning and threatening Bradley’s ascent. Bradley and Alex are pitted against each other, trying to get power.

Returning for Season 2 are Carell, Crudup, Duplass, Irwin, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, and Marcia Gay Harden.

Joining them are Greta Lee, Julianna Margulies, Ruairi O’Connor, Hasan Minhaj, Holland Taylor, Tara Karsian, and Valeria Golino.

The Morning Show was created and executive produced by Kerry Ehrin. Michael Ellenberg, Aniston, Kristin Hahn, Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, and Mimi Leder also exucutive produce.

The second season is set to launch on September 17, 2021. Watch the trailer below.

The Morning Show is one of the projects that put the newly launched streaming service Apple TV+ on the map, and its second season is on the way. The creative masterminds behind this drama discussed its future at the TCA press tour and revealed what the new chapter of this story holds.

Reese Witherspoon attended the panel alongside her co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Billy Crudup, and executive producers Mimi Leder and Michael Ellenberg, and offered a couple of hints about what they’re planning to explore in the next season.

“I feel like at the end of these ten episodes, there’s a whole new world order. It’s chaos. No one knows who is in charge and what leadership means at this point. I think that’s what we’re exploring in the culture right now as it goes topsy turvy, what is the new normal?” said Witherspoon.

The creators of The Morning Show also discussed everything from the mixed critical reaction to this series to Steve Carell’s potential return. The The Office star only signed a one-year contract, and they’re exploring the possibility of bringing him back, but nothing is certain just yet.

The first The Morning Show teaser is here.

The series, which stars Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Reese Witherspoon in the leads is a “fictional look at the goings-on of early morning television.”

Aniston and Witherspoon play “two ambitious, aspirational female characters,” while Carell portrays Mitch Kessler, an anchor “struggling to maintain relevancy in the ever-changing media world.”

“Through the prism of those under-slept, over-adrenalized people in front of and behind the camera, we take an honest look at the complex relationships between women and men in the workplace, and we engage in the conversation people are a little too afraid to have unless they’re behind closed doors,” Aniston said.

The Morning Show is directed by Mimi Leder from a script penned by Kerry Ehrin from an original idea Michael Ellenberg. The series also stars Billy Crudup and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
