Following with seven Emmys was The Mandalorian and RuPaul’s Drag Race won five awards. RuPaul scored his sixth consecutive win and 10th Emmy. Saturday Night Live also collected five awards, bringing their total to 83 Emmys.
In regards to network, Netflix dominated with 34 wins, Disney Plus has 13, HBO and HBO Max has 10, NBC has 7, Apple TV Plus 6, and VH1 5.
Guest acting Emmys went to Lovecraft Country‘s Courtney B. Vance and The Crown’s Claire Foy for drama and SNL hosts Maya Rudolph and Dave Chappelle for comedy.
The Primetime Emmys will be held on September 19.

]]>Level Forward CEO Adrienne Becker and producer Julia Dunetz recently confirmed they acquired the rights for the stage version of The Queen’s Gambit and said it’s a privilege to tell this story through the beloved and enduring craft of musical theater.
“Told through a brave and fresh point of view, audiences are already sharing in the friendship and fortitude of the story’s inspiring women who energize and sustain Beth Harmon’s journey and ultimate triumph,” said Becker and Dunetz in a joint statement.
The Queen’s Gambit centers on an orphaned chess prodigy with a substance abuse problem as she rises through the ranks of the male-dominated chess world. The mini-series premiered to rave reviews and recently won Golden Globe awards for the best-limited series and best actress in limited series for its leading lady Anya Taylor-Joy.

This historical drama about Phyllis Schlafly’s fight against the Equal Rights Amendment movement during the 1970s had one of the most star-studded casts of 2020, and that alone makes it worth the watch.
Based on Deborah Feldman’s autobiography, Netflix’s first series in Yiddish tracks the journey of a young ultra-Orthodox Jewish woman who decides to flee her arranged marriage and start a new life in Germany.
At a time when we all needed an addictive new show to be excited about, this intertwined tale of two families set in the opulent neighborhood of Shaker Heights gave us just that.

]]>Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s vice president of original series, praised the director and writer Scott Frank for bringing this critically acclaimed period drama to life with his talented cast and crew.
“It’s a true testament to Scott’s skill as a writer and filmmaker that he was able to bring the drama and detail of the many chess matches to life on camera. Scott also had tremendous help from the series’ talented crafts team,” said Friedlander in a statement.
The Queen’s Gambit stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the fictional chess prodigy Beth Harmon, as she tries to establish herself as the world’s best chess player while straggling with addiction and childhood trauma. The critically acclaimed series premiered on Netflix on October 23rd, and its cast also includes Bill Camp, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Moses Ingram, Harry Melling, and Marielle Heller.

]]>Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s vice president of original series, praised the director and writer Scott Frank for bringing this critically acclaimed period drama to life with his talented cast and crew.
“It’s a true testament to Scott’s skill as a writer and filmmaker that he was able to bring the drama and detail of the many chess matches to life on camera. Scott also had tremendous help from the series’ talented crafts team,” said Friedlander in a statement.
The Queen’s Gambit stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the fictional chess prodigy Beth Harmon, as she tries to establish herself as the world’s best chess player while straggling with addiction and childhood trauma. The critically acclaimed series premiered on Netflix on October 23rd, and its cast also includes Bill Camp, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Moses Ingram, Harry Melling, and Marielle Heller.
