Wonka will premiere in the United Kingdom on December 8, before heading to theatres in the United States one week later, on December 15.

Plot details for the upcoming film have been kept under wraps, but according to reports, the prequel will show how Willy Wonka became the candymaker. Production has been billed as a musical, and reps have confirmed Chamalet will be singing and dancing.
The character of Wonka debuted in Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which followed a poor boy named Charlie Bucket who wins a golden ticket to take a tour of Wonka’s incredible chocolate factory. The book has had two screen adaptations, with Wilder in 1971 and with Johnny Depp in Tim Burton’s 2005 film.
Paul King is helming the movie and David Heyman is producing.
