Wonka is one of the sweetest new movies coming our way this winter, and expectations are running higher and higher as time goes by. Warner Bros. Pictures just gave us sweetness overload with another new trailer for this musical fantasy film starring Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet.

Wonka draws inspiration from Roald Dahl’s beloved novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and it chronicles Willy Wonka’s wondrous origin story. It will show us how the world’s greatest inventor, magician, and chocolate maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.

The official synopsis describes this film as an “irresistibly vivid and inventive big screen spectacle [set to] introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time.”

In addition to Chalamet in the lead role, Wonka will also star Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Tom Davis, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Grant. It hails from the acclaimed filmmaker Paul King, who previously found success with his beloved Paddington franchise.

Wonka will premiere in the United Kingdom on December 8, before heading to theatres in the United States one week later, on December 15.
