]]>Edgerton recently told The New York Times that he talked with Kevin Feige and other Marvel Studio executives about his potential casting as Wolverine, adding he would gladly pick up the baton from Jackman.
“I don’t think it would be wrong to say that. I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it. But hopefully, if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot,” explained the Golden Globe-winning actor.
If Egerton was truly cast as Wolverine, he wouldn’t have any trouble turning to Jackman for advice. The two previously played lead roles in Dexter Fletcher’s 2015 film Eddie the Eagle, an underdog story about a tenacious ski jumper Eddie Edwards, who represented the UK at the 1988 Winter Olympics.
Jackman made his last appearance as Wolverine in the 2017 film Logan, and the X-Men franchise proceeded without him, with the films Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants.

]]>However, FandomWire reports that Disney is making sure to remove all mentions of mutants from the movie in order to disconnect it from the veteran franchise. The movie will probably be a standalone – not an X-Men movie and not connected to the MCU. According to the report, this movie is due not only to the state FOX had left the franchise in following the bomb that Dark Phoenix was, but also to allow a proper introduction of the characters into the MCU.
It is still unknown what movie we can expect in April. Disney will surely have to change a lot of it in order to meet their goal – including the title, character names, and even the identity of the antagonist who is said to be a classic X-Men villain, Mr. Sinister.

“My dream as a kid, both my brother and I, was to be in the Guinness Book of Records one day. We tried to stay up and play badminton for 48 hours, we tried to flip coins off our elbow, and I just realized maybe I’m there now, I don’t know,” said the Australian actor.
This victory comes shortly after Hugh Jackman came one step closer to becoming a member of the EGOT club, after winning a Grammy for The Greatest Showman.
