The Stars of “13 Reasons Why” Just Scored Huge Salary Bumps

Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford in "13 Reasons Why"

13 Reasons Why is currently one of the biggest hits on Netflix, and the stars of the show decided to strike while the iron is hot. They asked the network to increase their wages if they want them to return for the next season. Netflix couldn’t say “No” and closed new deals with the actors, who received big salary bumps after contract renegotiation.

Dylan Minnette emerged as the sole lead after Katherine Langford’s departure, so it doesn’t come as a surprise his paycheck is the most impressive. He will be paid $200,000 per episode from this point on. His co-stars will also walk away with impressive sums of cash, as well.

Brandon Flynn, Alisha Boe, Justin Prentice, Christian Navarro, Miles Heizer, Devin Druid and Ross Butler will each be making $135,000 an episode in the upcoming third season. They were also promised $150,000 per episode by the time Season 4 comes along. It’s an impressive improvement since they reportedly used to receive between $20,000 and $60.000 an episode in the past.

Stars of 13 Reasons Why aren’t the only young cast of a hit Netflix series to seek salary increase. Stranger Things kids did the same a couple of months ago and managed to secure $250,000 per episode! Both shows will return in 2019, but their release dates remain a mystery.
