Will 1917 win the Oscar for best picture? Many think it will and this possibility seems now more likely as it just won the prize in this category at the Producers Guild Association awards. It should be noted that in recent years only two movies did not win the Oscars after winning this award – La La Land and The Big Short. However, it does not have any Best Editor or acting nominations.

“In these times of division and conflict all over the world, it’s just a reminder to never take for granted the peace that we all inherited,” producer Pippa Harris said while accepting the award.

The award for Best Animated Theatrical Motion Picture went to Toy Story 4. Succession won the award for Best Episodic Television (Drama) and Fleabag received the award for Best Episodic Television (comedy). Chernobyl won the Limited series award, Apollo: Missions to the Moon took the Televised or Streamed Motion Picture award, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver won the Live Entertainment & Talk Television award, Ru Paul’s Drag Race won the Game & Competition Television award, and Apollo 11 won the Documentary Motion Picture award.
