It’s only been a month since Taylor Swift dropped Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and her next re-recording is on the way. She announced the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which will hit the shelves on the ninth anniversary of the original album and feature five new tracks.

Swift dropped many hints that she was getting ready to release a new version of 1989, and it didn’t take long for her fans to figure them out. She decided not to keep us in suspense for much longer and announced the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) for October 27.

She described 1989 as the album that changed her life in countless ways, adding she’s filled with excitement to announce the release of its new version. Swift described it as her favorite re-recording because it features five “insane” new tracks and said she can’t believe they were left behind.

1989 was originally released in 2014, and it marked a major turning point in Swift’s career, who distanced herself from her country roots and fully embraced a new synth-pop sound. This proved to be a wise choice since 1989 eventually won a Grammy for album of the year and produced some of Swift’s biggest hits, including chart-toppers “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space”, and “Bad Blood”.
