We can always count on the MTV Movie & TV Awards to give recognition to fan-favorite movies and TV shows and they’re doing it again this year. The list of nominees is in, and Spider-Man: No Way Home is leading the way with seven nominations, followed by Euphoria with six.
No Way Home is in the running for the biggest award of the night—best movie—where it will be competing against Dune, Scream, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Adam Project, and The Batman. Its star Tom Holland has been nominated for several awards, including the best hero, best actor in a movie, best kiss alongside Zendaya, and best team with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
As for Euphoria, the HBO teen drama is competing against Inventing Anna, Loki, Squid Game, Ted Lasso, and Yellowstone for the best TV show award. Its stars Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya have both been nominated for the best performance in the show.
The list of major contenders at this year’s ceremony also includes The Batman with four nominations and Shang-Chi with three. As for the unscripted lineup, RuPaul’s Drag Race is leading the way with four nods.
The 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards will take place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on June 5.
