Several award ceremonies had to shift their dates in the face of the SAG-AFTRA strike, but they can now go back to business! The Daytime Emmys are the first major ceremony to announce its return after the actors’ strike came to an end, and they’ll now officially take place on December 15.

The original telecast of the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys was set for June 16, but it had to be postponed because of the labor disputes in Hollywood. After months of uncertainty, the SAG-AFTRA strike finally ended this week, and the Daytime Emmys were officially pushed to December 15 on CBS.

Adam Sharp, president and CEO of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, said they’re pleased to celebrate the Golden Anniversary of the Daytime Emmy Awards on CBS with this new date.

“We know the loyal fans of daytime television have waited patiently to properly honor and recognize all of the deserving nominees and we look forward to the celebration we have all been waiting for,” said Sharp in a statement.

The 50th Annual Daytime Emmys will take place at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, with Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner hosting the show. ABC’s General Hospital will be the main contender at this year’s ceremony, with a total of 19 nods.
