HBO gave us another critically acclaimed series with A Black Lady Sketch Show, and they’re not letting go of it anytime soon. The sketch comedy show has just been renewed for its second season.

This series stars Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Quinta Brunson, and Gabrielle Dennis, and it’s produced by Issa Rae who previously got her break on HBO’s Insecure. Its first season premiered August 2nd, and it saw several A-list stars – including Angela Bassett and Laverne Cox – make a guest appearance.

Amy Gravitt, executive vice president at HBO Programming, announced the renewal of A Black Lady Sketch Show in an official statement and said they’re looking forward to working with this creative team in the future.

“It’s been thrilling to see the audience embrace the characters that Robin, Ashley, Gabrielle, and Quinta have brought to life. We had a blast making this groundbreaking sketch show with Robin, Dime and all of the writers and producers, and I can’t wait to see what next season holds,” stated Gravitt.
