Grab a Karma Chameleon, because Boy George is heading to the big screen!

The ’80s icon is the latest musician about whom a biopic is being made.

Boy George — whose real name is George Alan O’Dowd — rose to fame from humble beginnings in a working-class Irish family to becoming the lead singer of the Culture Club. The band became famous for songs such as “Karma Chameleon” and “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me”.

The upcoming film will focus on how the now-57-year-old became the flamboyant frontman that he is.

The movie — which will be directed by Sacha Gervasi of Anvil: The Story of Anvil — is the latest in a trend of biopics featuring famous musicians.

Rocketman about Elton John’s exuberant life sees Taron Egerton taking on the role of the “I’m Still Standing” singer and not shying away from the moments of drugs and alcohol, while Rami Malek last year provided an Oscar-winning portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Boy George’s biopic does not yet have a title or a release date.
