Amongst the list of those gone too soon is definitely Avicii.

The Swedish DJ passed away almost a year ago on April 20, 2018.

With the anniversary of his death approaching, the family of the late musician, whose real name was Tim Bergling, have now established a foundation in his honour.

Following the 28-year-old’s apparent suicide in Oman, his family revealed that he had been struggling with mental health issues — “thoughts about meaning, life, happiness,” and that “he could not go on any longer.”

The Tim Bergling Foundation will raise funds and awareness for mental health issues, as well as climate change, development assistance, nature conservation and endangered species, as well as work in Sweden and the rest of the world.

“Tim wanted to make a difference — starting a foundation in his name is our way to honour his memory and continue to act in his spirit,” said the family in a statement.

This way, Avicii will reach new levels even in his death.
