If you are not a complete stranger to social media, you have probably heard about Karen. The meme depicts a white privileged middle-class woman showing bossiness, racism, and a tendency to micro-aggressions. It became widespread in the past months as real-life Karens seemed to pop up everywhere. And now Karen is going to Hollywood.

TMZ reports that a new film inspired by the meme is in production starring none-other than Orange is the New Black’s Taryn Manning. Manning’s character on OITNB, Tiffany ‘Pennsatucky’ Doggett, shares some characteristics of a Karen.

The movie will be a thriller written and directed by Coke Daniels creator of His, Hers & the Truth. It will follow Karen white, a white woman in the south who terrorizes her new African American neighbors in order to make them leave the neighborhood. Daniels said he wants to give the audience an interesting perspective on social justice and race relations in America.

Manning has addressed the challenge of playing her character on OITNB and said it was very tough. “Everything that I’m not is what she was, so it was very tough. I gave myself a lot of pep talks: ‘Just muscle through this and you’re going to come out the other side. But if you’re going to do this, do it well.’”
