Priscilla made quite a splash when it premiered in Venice last month, and it’s one of the most anticipated new films coming our way this fall. A24 added some more fuel to the fire by dropping the first full trailer for Sofia Coppola’s acclaimed biopic about the pop culture icon Priscilla Presley.

Priscilla is based on Presley’s 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, and it chronicles her rocky relationship with the rock-and-roll superstar Elvis Presley. Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi star as Priscilla and Elvis, while the supporting cast includes Dagmara Domińczyk, Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll, Luke Humphrey, and Dan Beirne.

According to its Venice synopsis, this film “tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla’s long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy, and fame.”

Priscilla had its world premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, where it was met with a seven-minute standing ovation, while Spaeny won the Volpi Cup for best actress. Priscilla Presley gave the film her seal of approval and attended the premiere alongside Coppola, Spaeny, and Elordi.

Priscilla will be released by A24 on November 3, and it will screen at the New York Film Festival ahead of its theatrical release date.
