Aaron Taylor-Johnson is no stranger to playing iconic Marvel villains and he’s getting ready to do it again. The first trailer for Kraven the Hunter is here and it chronicles Sergei Kravinoff’s transformation into one of Marvel’s most iconic bad guys.

The official synopsis describes Kraven the Hunter as “the visceral story about how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be.” This film is set before his notorious vendetta with Spider-Man, but we’ve also seen him cross paths with everyone from Black Panther to Venom in the comics.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson said he was drawn to this character because he’s not an alien or a wizard, but just a human with conviction, an animal lover, and a protector of the natural world.

The English actor is no stranger to portraying Marvel villains. He previously played Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron but seeing him return as another character isn’t a huge shocker since Kraven the Hunter is a part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

In addition to Taylor-Johnson, Kraven the Hunter will also star Ariana DeBose, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, and Alessandro Nivola. The film was mostly shot on location in London, Glasgow, and Iceland, and it will hit the theatres on October 6.
