ABC has been on somewhat of a cancelation streak lately and several of its hits shows received an axe this Friday. The network canceled rookie dramas Alaska Daily and The Company You Keep, in addition to shutting down Big Sky after three seasons.

Big Sky was one of ABC’s breakout dramas when it first premiered in 2020, but it went downhill after its first season. It was heavily promoted as a star vehicle for Ryan Philippe, but his early departure left fans disappointed, and its ratings significantly dropped in later years.

ABC also opted not to renew Alaska Daily, led by the two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank. This series centered on an accomplished journalist who leaves her NYC life behind after a fall from grace to work for a daily metro newspaper in Anchorage, Alaska. It was mostly met with positive reviews, and Swank even received a Golden Globe nod for her performances, but that wasn’t enough to grant the show’s renewal.

The Company You Keep is another freshmen series to get the boot after a single season. Milo Ventimiglia’s first series after This Is Us failed to find an audience on ABC, and its cancelation wasn’t a shocker considering its mediocre ratings.
