ABC Cancels “Grand Hotel” After Only One Season

Demián Bichir and Roselyn Sanchez in "Grand Hotel"

Despite solid reviews, a lavish setting, and great cast, Grand Hotel reached the end of its run after only one season. Fans of this show won’t be checking back in since ABC decided to cancel this show.

The intriguing drama offered a look at the professional and personal lives of people working at a family-run hotel in Miami Beach, owned by the glamorous Mendoza family.

The Oscar-nominated actor Demián Bichir took on the lead role in Grand Hotel, and the series also starred Roselyn Sanchez, Denyse Tontz, Bryan Craig, Wendy Raquel Robinson, and Lincoln Younes.

After premiering on ABC on June 17th, this series was mostly met with positive reviews, but its future was hanging by a thread from the very start due to low ratings.

ABC president of entertainment, Karey Burke, mentioned that the future of this show is uncertain during TCA Summer Press Tour.

“We’re going to wait until the end of its run. It’s a show we like a lot. It’s a show that I wish the ratings were a bit stronger but we’ll make that decision after its run,” said Burke at the time.
