The WGA strike came to an end a few days ago, but that doesn’t mean our favorite shows are out of the woods just yet. ABC is making some major changes to its lineup right now, and Home Economics will no longer be a part of it since they decided to cancel it after three seasons.

According to its official logline, Home Economics offers “a look at the heartwarming, yet super uncomfortable and sometimes frustrating relationship between three adult siblings: one in the 1%, one middle-class, and one barely holding on.”

The series starred Topher Grace as a struggling middle-class author, Caitlin McGee in the role of his younger sister Sarah, a child therapist who’s barely making ends meet, and Jimmy Tatro as the duo’s youngest brother Connor, the CEO of his own private equity firm.

The supporting cast of Home Economics also included Karla Souza, Sasheer Zamata, Shiloh Bearman, Jordyn Curet, Chloe Jo Rountree, and JeCobi Swain.

Home Economics was created for ABC by Michael Colton and John Aboud, and draws inspiration from Colton’s real-life experiences. The series was met with mostly positive reviews following its premiere in 2021, but it experienced a significant dip in viewership across the next two seasons.
