ABC is adjusting to the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, which had a major impact on the future of its shows. In order to make room for some of its most popular returning series next spring, the network executives decided to cancel several relatively new dramas, starting with The Rookie: Feds.

The Rookie: Feds centers on Simone Clark, a former guidance counselor who becomes the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy. She embarks on the journey to fulfill her dream of becoming an FBI agent, proving everyone who doubted her wrong along the way.

Niecy Nash led the series, while the supporting cast included Felix Solis, Frankie Faison, Britt Robertson, Kevin Zegers, and James Lesure.

The Rookie: Feds aired on ABC in 2022, as the spin-off of the network’s hit series The Rookie. Its possible renewal was delayed for months in the face of dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but their end was the final nail in the coffin for this police procedural drama.

Only a few days after the actors’ strike came to an end, ABC announced they wouldn’t be moving forward with the second season of The Rookie: Feds. They also scrapped another spin-off that was supposed to air this upcoming spring: The Good Lawyer starring Kennedy McMann and Felicity Huffman.
