Chris Encell and ABC have teamed up to bring us a new comedy series.

Variety was the first to report that The Good Place writer and the network are developing a Green Card comedy. The single-cam series was already put into development. Encell will serve as writer and executive producer. Also on board is The Office producer Danny Chun, who will serve as an executive producer.

According to the outlet, Borderline centers on “goody-two-shoes Steve, who falls for reckless Maria. Their whirlwind romance is cut short when she gets deported. Now they must decide whether to bail on the potential love of their lives or take a leap of faith and get married.”

Encell’s other credits include Netflix’s On My Block and Barely, California
