Kristen Bell was recently cast as a lead in Erin Foster’s Netflix series, and the cast of this project is slowly expanding. Adam Brody will join Bell in this untitled series in the role of a charming, yet unconventional rabbi Noah.

The untitled series is loosely based on Foster’s real-life experiences, and it follows an irreverent, outspoken, and agnostic woman Joanne (Bell), who forms a strong bond with an unconventional rabbi Noah (Brody).

Brody’s character has been described as a charming rabbi who is stuck in his ways and used to playing things safe until he meets a brutally honest and provocative Joanne, who totally upends his safe life plan.

Foster and Bell will executive produce the series alongside Steve Levitan, Craig DiGregorio, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, plus Oly Obst, and Josh Lieberman via 3 Arts. This will mark the first Netflix series from the 20th Television since the studio became a part of Disney.

The O.C. star Adam Brody most recently returned as Freddy Freeman in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and he’s attached to star in Erasure alongside Jeffrey Wright and Tracee Ellis Ross. As for his TV project, he played one of the supporting roles in Fleishman Is in Trouble just last year.
