If Adam Devine’s hilarious turn as Bumper Allen was one of your favorite parts of Pitch Perfect, we’ve got some good news for you! Peacock is currently plotting a TV reboot of the beloved musical franchise, and Devine will be in charge of headlining the series.

Susan Rovner, chairman of entertainment content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said the network jumped on the opportunity to create this series with Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman, and Paul Brooks as soon as it arose. She added they’re fortunate to have Devine lead this project and bring fans “the quirky, laugh-out-loud sensibility they loved in the film franchise”.

In addition to Devine, the Pitch Perfect franchise also starred Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Hana Mae Lee, Hailee Steinfeld, and Alexis Knapp. It followed the adventures of Barden University’s all-girl a cappella group and became a commercial hit with over $600 million made across three movies.

Devine appeared in the first two Pitch Perfect movies and took on the role of Bumper Allen, the egotistical leader of the Treblemakers, the Barden Bellas’ all-male rival group. The TV reboot will see him try to revive his music career in Germany after one of his songs becomes big in Berlin.
