Adam Sandler is so determined to win an Oscar for his new movie Uncut Gems that he has promised he will make a bad movie on purpose if he doesn’t take home the award.

Uncut Gems is about an NYC jeweler in relentless pursuit of the big win. Sandler plays the lead role of Howard, who must balance his high-stake business with his family life and the various other struggles life throws at him.

To promote the new movie, Sandler appeared on The Howard Stern Show. During his appearance, he spoke about his desire to win an Oscar and teased that he would make a movie that’s “so bad on purpose” if he doesn’t win.

“If I don’t get it, I’m going to f***ing come back and do one again that is so bad on purpose just to make you all pay,” he said. “That’s how I get them.”

The National Board of Review has since named Sandler Best Actor, which has raised his chances at the Acadamy Awards. Then again, he will be competing with Joaquin Phoenix’s stellar performance in Joker, so Uncut Gems will have to be flawless,
